Shaoxing|Step Out of the Textbook to Lu Xun’s Hometown

Walking inward from Lu Xun Middle Road, the bluestone path carries a dampness, as if it has just been laid out from the pages of a textbook. The wooden fence of Baicao Garden is covered with green vines🌱, smaller and more delicate than imagined. Unknown wild grasses hide in the dirt, and you can almost see young Lu Xun and his friends chasing crickets.

The wooden door of Sanwei Study must be gently pushed open. Under the plaque reading "Sanwei Study," the teacher’s chair is neatly placed. The desk carved with the character "early" sits in the corner, and when sunlight slants in, the outline of the character becomes especially clear.

The Lu Xun Memorial Hall is tucked beside his former residence. In the exhibition hall, there are oil lamps and long gowns he used, and the yellowed manuscripts show strong handwriting. The most interesting part is the restored "Tiger Tail" study room, with simple tables, chairs, and bookshelves, reminding visitors of his late-night writing.

On the river, black-awning boats sway with the oars, the boatmen’s shouts blending with the sound of water, full of the slow rhythm of Jiangnan.
