The elevated wooden path at Shiretoko Five Lakes, a World Heritage site, spans 800 meters (1.6 km round trip) and is barrier-free, making it accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. With three observation decks offering views of the Shiretoko mountain range reflected on the lake surface and the Sea of Okhotsk, this popular course allows visitors to easily enjoy the magnificent nature of Shiretoko.
The path is equipped with electric fences for bear safety and is open year-round free of charge. The walk takes approximately 40 minutes, and visitors can turn back at any point.
🚗 Access:
About 25 minutes by car from Utoro town.
Parking fees: 500 yen per car, 200 yen per motorcycle.
During the busy summer season, taking a bus is also recommended.
