Huizhou Memories|At the foot of Huangshan, I found a real-life ink-wash ancient town 💮
Who would understand! Only after touring Huizhou did I realize that "a lifetime of infatuation" is truly not an exaggeration! Bluestone slabs, white walls with black tiles, horse-head walls... full of Jiangnan poetic charm. This immersive guide is a must-copy 👇
🌟3 Must-Visit "Huizhou Memory Spots" (No disappointments)
1. Hongcun Moon Pond: The soul of Huizhou ancient town! When the morning mist hasn't lifted, the white walls and black tiles reflect in the water like stepping into an ink painting. In the afternoon, the slanting sunlight creates amazing light and shadow effects. Remember to wear plain-colored clothes for double the photo success~
2. Xidi Ming and Qing Dynasty Ancient Residences: Quieter than Hongcun! Carved wooden windows and weathered brick walls are everywhere. Recommended to visit "Jing'ai Hall" to see Huizhou architectural details. Sitting on the doorstep of the old house for photos instantly transports you back in time~
3. Huizhou Ancient City Wall: Climbing the city wall to overlook the entire ancient city is breathtaking! The blue-gray roofs form a continuous patch. At dusk, watch the sunset cast warm light on the wall, creating a cozy atmosphere. You can also rent Huizhou-style Hanfu for photos, making the experience even more immersive~
🍜 Must-try Huizhou flavors! Locals’ secret list
- Mao Tofu in Hongcun alleys: Freshly pan-fried Mao tofu is crispy outside and tender inside. Dip it in chili sauce for an amazing flavor. Don’t be scared by the word "Mao," you’ll love it after one bite~
- Huizhou Stinky Mandarin Fish: Although the name is unique, the fish meat is firm and flavorful, incredibly fresh. You can find it at old local farmhouses near the scenic spots. Pair it with a bowl of bamboo shoot leaf braised pork for perfection!
- Street snack Huizhou Tart Guo: Available with vegetable or meat fillings, the crust is crispy and every bite is full of savory oil aroma. Only 5 yuan each, perfect as a snack when you’re tired from walking~
📝 Avoid pitfalls & practical tips
1. Choose "High-speed train + taxi" for transportation! Take the high-speed train to Huangshan North Station, then taxi to Hongcun/Xidi (about 1 hour). Driving is even more convenient, with parking lots around the ancient towns~
2. Stay in a homestay inside the ancient town! Open the window to see horse-head walls, and wake up to birdsong in the morning. Recommended to choose one with a courtyard; sitting in the yard drinking tea at night is super cozy~
3. Don’t buy overpriced souvenirs! You can lightly buy Huizhou bamboo weaving and Huimo ink in the ancient town, but avoid the main street. Small shops in alleys are more affordable and you can bargain~
Walking on the bluestone roads of Huizhou, even the wind carries poetry! Whether taking photos or just relaxing, you can find your own "Huizhou memories." I’ll definitely come back for a second visit~
