A relaxing space with a sense of history: The Hawaiian Kingdom Ambassador's Villa - Ikaho's ties to Hawaii remain

The Hawaiian Kingdom Minister's Villa is a valuable building located in the Ikaho hot springs area of Shibukawa City, Gunma Prefecture, that conveys the history of friendship between the Kingdom of Hawaii and Japan.

The villa was built in Ikaho by Robert Walker Alwin, the Japanese minister to the Kingdom of Hawaii's legation in Japan during the Meiji period, for recuperation and relaxation.

It is a symbol of the friendly relationship between Hawaii and Japan, and is now open to the public free of charge, so anyone can visit.

The museum costs 200 yen per person.

Take the Kan-etsu Kotsu bus bound for Ikaho Onsen from JR Shibukawa Station for about 25 minutes, get off at the Ikaho Onsen bus stop, and walk for about 7 minutes

Closed: New Year's holiday (December 29th-January 3rd)
Admission fee: Free (200 yen for the museum)
