Ouchi-juku – A Fairytale Village in Winter ❄️🏯

In January 2023, I had the chance to visit Ouchi-juku, a historic Edo-period village in Fukushima Prefecture. As soon as I arrived, I was mesmerized by the breathtaking scene of snow-covered thatched-roof houses, creating a picturesque winter wonderland.

Walking along the main street, I discovered local shops offering a variety of specialties, from Negi Soba (where you eat with a green onion instead of chopsticks) to delicious grilled rice cakes. The peaceful atmosphere and traditional Japanese setting made me feel like I had stepped back in time.

If you’re looking for an authentic Japanese winter experience, Ouchi-juku is definitely a must-visit!
