⛩️Akama Shrine | A journey to experience history and beauty at a fantastical shrine resembling the Dragon Palace

#AbsolutelyFreeTrip

"Akama Jingu" in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture is an impressive shrine with a beautiful vermilion shrine building that looks like Ryugu-jo Castle✨

It enshrines Emperor Antoku, who died at a young age in the Battle of Dannoura, and is a place where history and sadness quietly live.

The grounds are also home to the graves of the Heike clan and a statue of Hoichi the Earless, making it a must-see spot for literature and history lovers📖

When I actually visited, the shrine, located right next to the sea, had a pleasant sea breeze, and the vermilion building stood out against the blue sky, creating a very fantastical atmosphere🌊

When I put my hands together in the quiet air, I felt like my heart was calming down.

It was also very photogenic, and I was able to take a perfect photo to remember my trip📸

🚃Access: Take a bus from JR Shimonoseki Station for about 7 minutes, and get off at "Akama Jingu-mae"

🚗If you are driving, it is about 10 minutes from "Shimonoseki IC" on the Chugoku Expressway

You can experience the romance of history with your partner, or go on a solo trip to calm your mind.
Next time I want to visit at dusk and see the moment when the vermilion shrine is dyed in the sunset... That's what I felt🌇
