Shirakawa-go, a place that only appears in fairy tales

This is my favorite place in Japan so far, there is no other. Shirakawa-go is a place on the UNESCO list because its houses are ancient architectural heritage. It was snowing heavily when I went there, and I chose a weekend when the lights were on - it was like a fairy tale world! Firstly, the snow has made the scene look like something out of a fairy tale, and the construction of the house and everything around it is fascinating.

I love it when the snow is falling and I keep eating the warm food that I can buy on the street corner! We didn’t book a homestay here, so we drove to Gaoshan at night and spent the night there, and then came back here in the morning to continue shooting!

Self-driving tours are fun, and going to Shirakawa-go is highly recommended!
