Fairyland Mountain and Water Check-in Guide

Day 1: In-depth Buddhist Worship at Jiuhua Mountain

Morning: After arriving in Chizhou, head to the Jiuhua Mountain Visitor Center and transfer to the scenic area shuttle to Qiyuan Temple, where you can receive three incense sticks for blessings. Then take the cable car to Baisui Palace to admire the natural Sleeping Buddha and explore the true body of Master Wuxia.

Afternoon: Visit the Moon Body Treasure Hall, the site of the true body of Kṣitigarbha, and touch the "National Protection Flesh Body Pagoda" in front of the hall to receive blessings. If you have the energy, take the Tiantai Cableway to the summit and enjoy the sea of clouds at over 1,300 meters above sea level.

Accommodation: Stay on Jiuhua Old Street. For budget options, consider the Foyuan Guesthouse with standard rooms at 150 yuan; for a better experience, choose Julong Hotel, where Zhou Enlai once stayed.

Food: Try Jiuhua vegetarian dishes, such as "Arhat Vegetarian," which is worth tasting; you can also try stone ear mushroom stewed with native chicken.

Day 2: Guniujiang + Qiupu River

Morning: Head to Guniujiang, known as the "Little Jiuzhaigou of Southern Anhui." The jelly-like water quality of Longmen Pool combined with the red rock beach is perfect for photography and water play. Then visit Yan Family Ancient Village, where the Hui-style old houses are very charming, and villagers sell affordable and delicious bamboo tube rice for 5 yuan.

Afternoon: Go to Qiupu River and take a bamboo raft drift at Qiupu Fishing Village, checking in at the "Li Bai Poetry Corridor." For adventure lovers, choose the Baizhang Cliff adventure to experience creek tracing and tightrope walking.

Accommodation: Consider a riverside guesthouse by Qiupu River, such as Qiushuiju with Li Bai-themed rooms near the bamboo raft dock; or stay in Shitai County for more options.

Food: Eat Qiupu flower mandarin fish and experience the same stinky mandarin fish flavor that Li Bai enjoyed.

Day 3: Explore Off-the-Beaten-Path Attractions

You have two options based on your preference:

Nature Route: Visit Xianyu Mountain. Stroll along the Jugen Pass Ancient Hui Road and encounter the colorful Jade Valley. The rainbow stone beach after rain is stunning.

Culture Route: Visit Lingyang Ancient Town, full of charm with its Three Kingdoms old wharf and exquisite wood carvings in the Xie Family Ancestral Hall. In the afternoon, explore Penglai Fairy Cave, a four-level underground maze, and admire the "Queen Mother’s Jade Pool" stalactites that glow naturally.

Travel Tips

After arriving at Chizhou High-Speed Railway Station, take the "High-Speed Rail - Jiuhua Mountain" shuttle bus directly to Jiuhua Mountain. Public transportation to Guniujiang is inconvenient; the bus from Chizhou Bus Station to Shitai has limited daily departures. If traveling with a group, self-driving or chartering a car is more convenient.
