[Shizuoka Prefecture] Sunpu Castle Park

Sunpu Castle was built by Tokugawa Ieyasu in his prime and used as his retirement home in his later years. The ruins of Sunpu Castle have been developed into a park, so I took a stroll there.
There is a statue of Tokugawa Ieyasu in the park, and the 100 Great Castles of Japan are worth seeing.
Excavations are currently being carried out, so you can see the stone walls from 400 years ago. There is no castle tower, but there is a magnificent gate, stone walls, and moat.
It is very large, so make sure you have plenty of time to visit.
There seem to be a lot of events going on, so I will be returning soon!
