The Angkor National Museum is an archaeological museum located in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
After arriving in Siem Reap, be sure to visit the museum first to gain some knowledge and a basic understanding of Khmer beliefs and the transition from Hinduism to Buddhism. Visiting the historical sites afterward will be even more rewarding!
Tickets are USD 12, with a Chinese audio guide available for USD 5. Free parking is available at the entrance, and the attendants even tag motorcycles, demonstrating excellent management.👍
The museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and exhibiting Angkorian artifacts, and providing information and education about the art and culture of Khmer civilization. The collection mainly dates back to the Angkor period of the Khmer Empire from the 9th to the 14th centuries. Most of the artifacts were discovered in and around the nearby Angkor Archaeological Park. The Angkor National Museum opened on November 12, 2007, and uses audiovisual multimedia technology to tell the story of the golden age of the Khmer Empire.
