Kampong Glam in Singapore is a unique community that combines Malay and Arab cultures. As soon as you enter Kampong Glam, you will see the magnificent Sultan Mosque. This mosque is one of the largest in Singapore and is known for its stunning architecture and magnificent dome. The white dome and golden dome of the temple sparkle in the sun✨, giving people a sacred and elegant feeling😌.
Near the Sultan Mosque, there is a famous street called Arab Street. Walking through the alleys is like an adventure🗺️, where you can always discover different artistic and exquisite textiles, handicrafts and galleries🎨.
There are many culturally distinctive delicacies in Arab Street. I tasted the famous Turkish ice cream 🍦, and was pleasantly surprised by its unique taste that was not easy to melt.
While walking, we also tasted Persian food at a Persian restaurant near Arab Street. The dishes here are rich and varied, with unique flavors. I ordered a traditional grilled meat and flatbread, which was seasoned just right and I felt the charm of Persian culture.
📍Location: Kampong Glam is located in the heart of Singapore, adjacent to Bugis and Lavender areas
🚆Transportation: It is very convenient to take the subway (MRT) or public bus. The nearest subway station is Bugis MRT Station. It takes about 10 minutes to walk after getting off.
