Seeking the 4 giant trolls on Sentosa’s Palawan Beach

#singaporetrip

We set out on a quest one Friday afternoon, seeking out four giant troll sculptures with large front teeth and eyes the size of rugby balls, located at various spots on Sentosa’s Palawan Beach 🏝️

Created by Copenhagen-based sustainability artist and recycling activist Thomas Dambo, these creatures are naturally made out of wooden pallets, crates, floorboards & other recycled trash discarded in Singapore, hence presenting the essential message that trash can indeed be transformed into something beautiful that brings a smile to faces 😍

We encountered some difficulty spotting the 3rd & 4th giant trolls as they were concealed in slightly forested areas. Neither the island staff knew where they were, nor were there any signs indicating their locations. To hinder us further, it started pouring heavily 🌧️ just as we were triumphantly striding across the sandy beach to the final giant troll 😅

Pictures were hurriedly taken before we promptly evacuated the non-sheltered zone, drenched but with a newfound sense of achievement 😆
