Little Guilin: Singapore’s Hidden Gem in Bukit Batok

#singaporetrip

Tucked away in Bukit Batok Town Park, Little Guilin—also known as Xiao Guilin—is a tranquil retreat that resembles the limestone karst landscapes of Guilin in China. With towering granite cliffs rising above a peaceful lake, this spot blends rugged natural beauty with a calm, scenic atmosphere.

🌿 From Quarry to Beauty Spot

Once a granite quarry called Gammon Quarry, the site was abandoned in the 1980s. Over time, it was filled with rainwater and was transformed into a park in 1984 by the Housing and Development Board, keeping its dramatic rock formations and lush greenery intact.

📸 What to See

Granite Cliffs & Lake: The emerald lake and surrounding cliffs are the main attraction—perfect for peaceful walks and scenic photography.

Walking Trails: A short 400-meter path around the lake offers great views at every turn.

Photo Spots: It’s a favourite for photographers and even pre-wedding shoots, thanks to its striking natural beauty.

🚶 How to Get There

MRT: 8-minute walk from Bukit Gombak MRT Station (NS3).

Bus: Services 945, 871, and 871A stop nearby.
