Bowland in the spring

The forest of Bowland has often been described as the Switzerland of England and with good reason, its stunning rolling hills and green landscape provide for the perfect outdoor escape.

One of the main attractions here is of course hiking and there are few better areas to do so than from the village of Slaidburn.

Taking a walk here along the well maintained footpaths takes you alongside the crystal clear River Hodder and up into meadows that are full of wildflowers during the summer months with views across the surrounding.
