That day, I visited The Proud, a restaurant high on a hill on Koh Yo, Songkhla Province, and spent the afternoon gazing out at the sea.

Standing on the high mountain, gazing at the blue sky, everything seemed to calm down. The sea breeze, sometimes strong, sometimes light, helped soothe my anxiety and inner confusion.

I ordered coffee and homemade cake, and the distant view of the sea only made my first experience in Hat Yai even more memorable.
