Gamla Stan: My Favorite Itinerary Stop in Stockholm

If I had to pick just one place in Stockholm that completely stole my heart, it would be Gamla Stan. Walking through this medieval old town feels like stepping back in time—cobblestone streets, charming narrow alleys, and colorful buildings straight out of a storybook.

I spent hours wandering around, soaking in the history and atmosphere. Stortorget, the main square, is a must-visit, with its iconic, postcard-worthy facades. I also loved visiting the Royal Palace, where I caught the changing of the guard ceremony—such a cool experience!

Beyond the history, Gamla Stan is also a paradise for food lovers. I stumbled upon a cozy café and had the best fika (Swedish coffee break) with a warm cinnamon bun. And if you're a fan of souvenirs, the little boutiques here sell the cutest handicrafts and Viking-inspired trinkets.
