Getting There - Flight from Shanghai to Xishuambanna

The time had finally come for me to book a little short vacation for the Christmas break.

I’ve heard amazing reviews about Xishuambanna and opted to explore the area for a week. As I packed my bags, with an open mind and camera in tow I was excited to see what attractions I can see.

We first explored Menghai a small town north of Xishuambanna, the landscape and architecture was heavily influenced by South-East Asia.

I was quite surprised to learn about the ethnic proportions this region the “Dai” people. The food was spicy, fresh and healthy. The streets lined with flowers and the parks plush with an array of palm trees and gardens filled with a rainbow of colors.
