There are many sightseeing spots in Sapporo, but if you come to Sapporo, you can't miss the Sapporo Snow Festival, which is also a tourist event.

This time, I went to the Susukino venue, so I'll share what it was like.

When it comes to big events that color Sapporo's winter, it's the Sapporo Snow Festival.

The Susukino venue of the Sapporo Snow Festival is not a snow sculpture, but an ice sculpture! Pure ice is shaved with a chainsaw to create artistic ice sculptures.

Fish-filled ice sculptures, a specialty of the Sapporo Snow Festival, and ice sculpture competitions are also held, making it well worth seeing.

At the entrance to Susukino, there is a commercial facility called Kokonosukino.

Above Kokonosukino, there is a hotel, so it is perfect for sightseeing.

[One word of advice]

The ice sculptures are nice during the day, but the lighting is recommended at night!

Please take precautions against the cold when you go out.

Surprisingly, many people don't wear gloves, but a hat and gloves are essential.
