Exploring Suzhou's hidden treasures - Panmen Gate snd Ancient Pagoda

Did you know that Suzhou has an ancient (not rebuilt) city wall? And a pagoda spanning several centuries that is not Tiger Hill and you can visit it's interiors?

We went to Panmen get in the Southwest corner of Gusu district to see history unfold. To our surprise, the canal nearby had a SUP race. There were colorful lanterns to celebrate the mid-autum festival.

We got to climb the panmen pagoda and step on the same stones as the people of Suzhou hundreds of years before us. The surrounding area is a blend of tranquil canal-side gardens and bustling markets.
