Hanshan Temple (寒山寺), Suzhou

Hello, today I will take you to visit "Hanshan Temple", one of the oldest temples in Suzhou, which is famous for its bell sound at night, which has inspired many famous Chinese poems.

A brief history of Hanshan Temple 📜
Hanshan Temple was built during the Liang Dynasty (around 502–557). It is said that "Lord Hanshan", a famous poet and monk at that time, became the abbot here and turned the temple into a center of culture and faith. In addition, the sound of the temple's bells echoing at night is also mentioned in Chinese classical poetry.

Things to do in Hanshan Temple ✨
1. The Giant Copper Bell of Hanshan 🔔
If you come here, don't miss ringing the bell to make a wish. This bell is large and means "drive away bad things and bring good luck".

2. Feed the carps 🐟🥢
There are many big carps swimming around the pond in the temple. We can buy food from the vending machine and feed the fish. It's so much fun.

3. See the old pagoda 🏯
Another highlight is the beautiful five-story pagoda in the middle of the temple. You can also go up to see the high-angle view of the temple and the Suzhou River.

4. Walk and admire the ancient Chinese architecture 🏮
The shady walkway, old wooden buildings, large doors, and the faint scent of incense make you feel like you have traveled back in time to ancient times.
