Suzhou Museum West Branch

We took the subway from Hanting Suzhou Dushu Lake Higher Education Zone Hotel to Guanqian Street for some sightseeing, then rode shared bikes to visit the Suzhou Museum West Branch. The scenery along the way was beautiful, with lush willows and flowing rivers. Even the small alleys and streets were clean and tidy. My wife and I happily cycled, feeling like a breath of spring breeze. Whenever we encountered archways or pavilions, we stopped to admire and rest. This trip to Suzhou truly reflects the city's transparent, clear, simple, and bright urban construction, creating a livable, comfortable, and enjoyable city. Suzhou is outstanding.

The Suzhou Museum West Branch is built at the foot of a mountain. The modern hollow sculpture in the front plaza is eye-catching. The reeds in the rear plaza, set against the backdrop of distant mountains, make for great photos. The "Pure Jiangnan" craftsmanship is uniquely ingenious in Suzhou, telling the story of thousands of years of skill inheritance. Since ancient times, Suzhou has emphasized craftsmanship and excellence, reflected in Su embroidery, jade carving, and bamboo engraving. Exhibits include precious cultural relics such as Liangzhu jade cong, King Wu Yu Mei's sword (with a 75-character inscription recording Wu Kingdom history), Yuan dynasty gray pottery tribute ware, and Tang dynasty gold dragon.

Among the nine excavated swords of King Fuchai of Wu, the best-preserved sword can also be admired at the Suzhou Museum West Branch. The secret color porcelain lotus bowl is a masterpiece of Yue kiln celadon, exquisite and dignified, with proper proportions, smooth lines, and rich elegance. It is said to have been used exclusively by the royal family, so it is a rare treat for us to see it.

After a day of sightseeing, taking the subway back to the accommodation from the station near Hangzhou Museum is very convenient. It was a wonderful day, full of rewarding experiences.
