Zhouzhuang 🌺

We arrived in Zhouzhuang on a bright summer afternoon, the sun high and sharp on the tiled rooftops and narrow canals 🌞🏘️🛶. The water moved slow and dark beneath stone bridges, while willows leaned over the banks, their leaves swaying gently in the heat 🌿🌉. Boatmen in straw hats pushed their wooden boats with practiced ease, their voices low as they sang old songs that seemed to float just above the water 🎶🚣♂️.

The air was thick with the scent of river, steamed buns, and the sweetness of lotus blooming in hidden courtyards 🌸🍡🏞️. We walked the alleys past old residences with carved wood panels and quiet patios where locals rested with tea. Zhouzhuang in summer felt timeless the canals, the bridges, the songs all moving slowly under the weight of the sun, as if the town had mastered the art of living with the river’s steady rhythm ☀️🕰️🍃.
