Taichung's newest National Manga Museum is definitely worth a visit! This isn't just a cold exhibition hall; it's a revitalized collection of old Japanese-style dormitories, transformed into a magical space brimming with manga-inspired charm.
Upon entering the grounds, you're immediately captivated by these historic houses. Each wooden dormitories retains its original appearance, featuring red brick walls and old wooden doors. Every corner is filled with stories, creating captivating photos. Walking through them feels like stepping back in time to the Japanese colonial era, immersing you in the tranquility and beauty of a bygone era.
Each of these dormitories has a different theme: some serve as exhibition spaces, others as cultural and creative shops. Wandering around feels like a treasure hunt, with surprises around every corner.
This exhibition was truly amazing! Rather than simply hanging comics on the walls, it features many interactive installations that allow you to not only look but also engage with them.
The exhibition showcases many classic manga, and seeing familiar characters brought back memories of my childhood comics. It was incredibly moving! One of the exhibition rooms features a comic-themed animated film, complete with sound and light effects. It's truly entertaining and captivating for both adults and children.
Tired of exploring? Don't worry, the ice cream section is sure to delight your eyes. Their ice cream designs are inspired by comics, and not only are they adorable but also incredibly refreshing, making the heat of the exhibition melt away in no time.
The National Manga Museum is more interesting than you might imagine! Its blend of historical architecture and modern manga culture creates a vibrant and lively atmosphere. If you're tired of the same old indoor exhibitions, this is a great alternative.
