Taichung Railway Cultural Park

#September2025

🏛️ The Taichung Railway Cultural Park, located in Taichung's Central District, is centered around the second-generation Taichung Railway Station (a national historic site), which opened in 1917. This red-brick, Tatsuno-style station bears witness to history. The park now preserves the platforms and tracks, and showcases several retired classic trains, including the DR2700 Guanghua (white iron train) and the EMU100 Ziqiang (British lady).

The park cleverly blends railway heritage with modern cultural creativity. For example, the EMU100 carriage has been transformed into the retro café "Mamonaku Cafe," while the DR2700 carriage has been transformed into the cultural and creative boutique "Guanghua Shop." Markets and exhibitions are held regularly, making it a great place to experience railway history, take photos, and simply stroll.

The park successfully blends historical preservation, cultural experiences, and leisurely entertainment, becoming a charming new cultural attraction in downtown Taichung.
