Tainan Attractions-Sidian Wu Temple
Commonly known as the Great Guandi Temple, also known as the Great Wu Temple,
Different from the Kaiji Wu Temple on Xinmei Street (also known as the Little Guandi Temple),
It is adjacent to the Great Heavenly Palace and opposite to the Chihkan Tower.
Located on Yongfu Road, it is the oldest martial arts temple in Tainan.
It was built during the Ming Dynasty, and was originally dedicated to Yue Fei and Guan Gong.
After the Qing Dynasty conquered Taiwan, the main deity worshipped was Guan Gong.
Later, he conferred the title of Guandi on the three generations and rebuilt the main temple gate.
It was also promoted to become the official main temple for worshipping ceremonies, so it was named the Si Dian Wu Temple.
