The Chi Mei Museum was founded in 1992 by Xu Wenlong, the founder of Chi Mei Industrial. The first time I went there, I just walked around the park outside (the park is free and very large, and there are many sculptures outside). This time I had the opportunity to visit inside (the permanent exhibition ticket is 200 yuan, which is very good), and special exhibitions are charged separately. It would be great to visit together if you have time!
The museum has a rich collection of more than 13,000 works of art, covering four major areas: Western art, musical instruments, weapons and natural history. There are restaurants and 7-11 on the first floor where you can have lunch. The exhibition starts from the first floor, where you can see many large animal specimens and sculptures. The most classic one is the Rodin Room.
Going up to the second floor, there are abundant paintings, musical instruments, weapons, and a giant ceiling painting that you can't miss. There is also a special dynamic video room for introductions, which is very interesting. There is also a cafe where you can rest when you are tired of shopping! The overall traffic flow is well planned, there are many toilets, and you can buy souvenirs before leaving! #Kaohsiung #Museum
