New Beitou Station - During the Japanese colonial period, in order to develop the hot spring tourism industry in the New Beitou area, the New Beitou Branch Line was built. In 1916 (the 5th year of Taisho era), the "New Beitou Passenger Station" was established and later renamed as "New Beitou Station". The name "New Beitou" originated from this. New Beitou Station is the only remaining century-old station on the North-South MRT Line and even in Taipei City. Its station building is made of wood, and the carved flower brackets under the eaves and the 3+1 combination tiger windows produced during the expansion of the station building in 1937 are a major feature of the station architecture.
