In the early morning, I took the high-speed rail from Taipei to the south, and after arriving at noon, I went directly to the Taipei Catholic Cathedral. This century-old church is one of the oldest Catholic buildings in Taiwan, exuding a simple yet solemn Gothic style. As you enter the church, the stained glass emits soft light, filling the entire space with a sense of tranquility and sacredness. Wooden benches, hand-painted murals, every detail tells the long history of faith. Walk to Chihkan Tower in the evening. The ancient brick walls and the green courtyard illuminated by the setting sun complement each other and remind you of the vicissitudes of history.
