Faith and Wishes: Exploring the Spiritual Heart of Mengjia

The temple was filled with curling incense smoke, and worshippers moved gently amidst the prayers, as if time itself had slowed down. The intricately carved walls and the altar, perpetually lit with incense, were adorned with fresh flowers and prayer notes. Sitting quietly by the corridor, I watched people silently recite their wishes. These simple desires are the true weight of life. Returning to Caesar Park at night, the city lights outside the window intertwined with the lanterns in front of the temple. I realized that in Taipei, faith and modernity are never in conflict; they simply express the warmth of life in different languages.
