Checking into the Grand Champs-Elysées Taipei, the high-ceilinged lobby and European-style details make you feel like you are walking into a 19th-century Parisian mansion. The low-key luxury is intoxicating. Today's itinerary is to visit the Evergreen Maritime Museum, an ocean treasure house in the city that houses more than a thousand maritime treasures and is a microcosm of the city and the sea.
The model ships in the museum are exquisite to the millimeter, and each exhibit, including nautical charts, lighthouses, and steering wheels, tells the grandeur and loneliness of maritime history. From merchant ships to cruise ships, every ship carries humanity's desire for distant places. In the evening, I returned to Junpin, sat next to the book wall, and read an old book about sailing. I felt as if I had become a traveler through the wind and waves.
