Sisinan Village, an old military village in the shadow of Building 101

Sisinan Village Museum, also known as “Sisinan Village” (四四南村), is a cultural attraction located in Taipei’s Xinyi District, near Taipei 101, and is just a 5-minute walk from MRT Taipei 101/World Trade Center Exit 2.

Museum Highlights
• History of the Military Village: Sisinan Village was the first military village built in Taipei in 1948 to house soldiers and their families who had migrated from mainland China after the civil war. It has now been preserved and renovated into a museum that showcases the life and culture of the former military community.

• Architecture and Atmosphere: The village’s buildings still retain the style of single-story houses made of wood and local materials, with narrow walkways and a retro atmosphere that gives a sense of the simplicity of life in the past.

• Activities and Exhibitions: The area features exhibitions on the history of the military village, as well as a cafe, teahouse, and a weekend art market selling handmade and vintage goods.

• Popular Photo Spots: The village offers a great photo spot to capture Taipei 101. Especially the grassy hills and the old buildings that have been renovated.
