The Taipei Botanical Garden, located in Taipei's Zhongzheng District, near National Taiwan University and the National Museum of History, spans approximately eight hectares and is one of Taiwan's oldest botanical gardens. The garden features over 1,500 plant species, divided into 17 themed areas, such as the Medicinal Plant Zone, the Tropical Rainforest Zone, and the Lotus Pond, offering both educational and recreational opportunities. The Imperial Commissioner's Office, Qing Dynasty architecture, and the Nine-Curve Bridge imbue the garden with historical charm, perfect for visitors who enjoy both culture and nature. Admission is free and open daily from 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM. Access is convenient via the MRT Xiaonanmen Station.

I was captivated by the garden's tranquil atmosphere. Strolling by the lotus pond, the blooming summer lotuses and the chirping birds create a momentary escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The informative signage in the Medicinal Plant Zone enriched my knowledge of plants. The garden also boasts numerous old trees and ecological ponds, perfect for exploring with children or strolling with couples. While the summer heat can be a bit high, the shade provided by the trees is a pleasant comfort. Overall, this is a wonderful place to find peace and quiet amidst the hustle and bustle, and well worth a visit!
