Sisi South Village, located in Taipei's Xinyi District, was once a military dependents' village during the early days of the Nationalist government's presence in Taiwan. It has now transformed into a vibrant green space within the city, steeped in history and culture. Upon entering Sisi South Village, visitors are greeted by neatly arranged rows of low-rise Japanese-style buildings with red brick and tile roofs, transporting them back in time to the simple and heartwarming days of the military dependents' village.
The village retains many historic buildings while incorporating modern innovations, featuring a cultural and creative market, cafes, and small exhibition spaces. On weekends, handmade stalls and art fairs often line the streets, offering visitors the opportunity to savor delicious food and coffee while experiencing the joy of handmade art firsthand.
