Sukhothai is an ancient capital of Thailand, and its name means "Dawn of Happiness." The restaurant features a modern ambiance infused with rich Thai elements. With Thai chefs at the helm, the traditional Thai cuisine is given a contemporary and stylish twist!
It’s been quite a while since my last visit to Sukhothai. Taking advantage of the first guest appearance in Taiwan by the two-Michelin-starred restaurant R-HAAN, with Chef Chumpol Jangprai leading the kitchen, I decided to revisit and savor the flavors once again ❤️
For the guest chef’s dishes, there’s a 25% discount with the gourmet card, so I only ordered one guest dish: "Thai Seafood Curry in Coconut Shell." The presentation of this curry was stunning when served, but to my surprise, after removing the seafood, the base was just clear soup. Honestly, I didn’t quite get it 😓
Had I known, I wouldn’t have swapped out the Golden Curry Seafood 🥲
Additionally, I ordered my usual favorites: grilled Matsusaka pork, lemongrass chicken wings, and crispy soft-shell crab. These dishes were as delicious as always.
I also tried the coconut milk chicken soup, which was tangy and appetizing—better paired with rice than the guest chef’s curry 😂
Dessert is a must! I ordered the new caramelized banana with puff pastry and ice cream. It was absolutely delightful 💞
