BelAir Western Restaurant at Grand Hyatt Taipei

Known as one of Taipei's most romantic dining spots, BelAir Western Restaurant is a must-visit for its European-style ambiance and fountain setting. I decided to revisit this delightful restaurant with my best friend who was craving its delicious offerings. đŸ„°

The menu offers both à la carte and set meal options. On weekends, there are exclusive suite packages (with a 25% discount for 2-4 people using the Gourmet Card). Additionally, there’s a weekday lunch special priced at $1680, which includes an appetizer, soup, main course, and dessert or fruit (if using the Gourmet Card discount, the original price of $2480 applies).

The main course options are incredibly diverse, with over ten types of steak alone. For non-steak lovers, there are plenty of other choices, making it an ideal spot for dates or group gatherings.

After ordering, the meal begins with complimentary bread. Excitingly, the bread selection has returned to a variety pack! đŸ„ł Today’s options included onion, cranberry flaxseed, and wheat tea flavors. The onion bread was so good that my friend devoured four pieces! 😂

Next came the appetizers. The owner ordered the Maryland crab cake as an add-on, which had a strong crab flavor—seafood skeptics, beware. My friend and I opted for the caviar and wagyu tartare, a dish we almost always order when we visit. 😆

For the hot appetizer, we both chose the spicy grilled tiger prawns, which were so delicious we considered ordering more!

During our visit, we had the chance to meet the charming Chef William, who treated us to black truffle salad and tomato bisque. Both dishes were absolutely impressive! 💞

For the main course, we selected the BelAir Surf & Turf platter, featuring a 400g U.S. ribeye steak and two roasted tiger prawns. This is a two-person set meal, allowing you to choose two side dishes. The steak is best enjoyed medium rare, with its fat and doneness perfectly balanced. It’s served tableside with freshly ground black pepper, along with options of sea salt, rose salt, and mustard seed sauce. However, we couldn’t help but wonder why roasted garlic wasn’t included. 😆

This ribeye was even more delicious than the one we had back in August! ❀

My friend ordered the BelAir signature Wellington, which has recently been changed to a two-person portion. If you want a single serving, you’ll need to order three days in advance. The recommended doneness is medium rare, with a crispy outer layer and tender, flavorful filet inside. It’s now ranked as my friend’s top choice among steakhouse dishes! đŸ„ł

Finally, we moved on to dessert, tea, and drinks. My friend ordered the giant thick-slice chocolate cake again but felt it wasn’t as good as S&W’s version. 😂

We accidentally ordered the caviar Basque cheesecake, which turned out to be quite tasty. Later, we added the pistachio snow mountain lava cake, which was surprisingly delicious!

The ambiance, service, and food quality were all impeccable. ❀

As a bonus, we received a commemorative photo frame for our anniversary celebration. đŸ„°

Gourmet Card: 50% off for 2 people
Today’s occupancy: about 90%

A side note: BelAir doesn’t charge for water! You can choose between mineral water or sparkling water.
