Taiwan Itinerary: Modern Taipei Eats

Three amazing cities, loads of culture, and killer eats — here’s my ultimate Taiwan hopping guide for Taipei, 😎✈️

Top Spots to Visit

Taipei
- Just Inn Taipei (Xin Yi): No.182 Section 1, Keelung Road. If you’re all about value and location, this place nails it. Super clean, daily upkeep, friendly staff 👏, and next to MRT, malls, and 7-Eleven. Free coffee/tea and Wi-Fi! Rooms are small but practical, though bring earplugs—the soundproofing could use a boost. Great for solo/business stays!
- YEN Chinese Restaurant: 10 Zhongxiao East Rd Sec. 5, XinYi District. Dine high above the city—fancy Cantonese, awesome Taipei views. Reserve ahead on peak nights!
- Taipei International Convention Center (TICC): No.1 Section 5, Xinyi Rd. Open daily 7:30–22:30. Business, events, or just marvel at Taiwan’s modern side.
- Taipei World Trade Center: No.5 Section 5, Xinyi Rd. Open daily 10:00–18:00. Right by TICC—skip between the two for a full-on city vibe.
- Zhongxiao E Rd: Classic stroll spot. Cafes, shops, and all things Taipei street life packed into one stretch.

Chatou
- Musée Fournaise: Historic riverside art museum in Chatou for those French Impressionist vibes.

Travel Tips & Hacks
- Taipei’s MRT is your BFF—tap-and-go everywhere, it’s cheap and easy. Use EasyCard and recharge at stations or the nearest convenience store!
- For dining, try YEN Restaurant for upscale eats, or explore night markets (Raohe, Tonghua) for cheap street food.
- Most places in Taipei take card, but stash some NT$ cash for old-school food stalls.
- Weather alert: Taipei can be super humid. Pack light layers and carry an umbrella.
- Chatou: Best access is via Paris RER from the city center; check metro schedules.
- For visas/currency: Taiwan offers online applications for many passports, and local ATMs work with major cards.
