Taiwan's first national museum

The National Museum of History is Taiwan's first national museum. Due to recent space constraints and its designation as a historic building, reconstruction has been difficult. Therefore, a renovation project was initiated in 2018, relocating the administrative offices and artifact storage to maximize exhibition space. After nearly six years of renovation, the museum reopened in February 2024.

#Visit Taipei Botanical Garden
The museum's collection comprises 19 categories of artifacts, including Chinese and Western paintings, jade, pottery, and porcelain. Exhibition enthusiasts can easily spend the better part of a day here. Alternatively, you can combine your visit with the nearby Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, the National Taiwan Museum of the Arts, and the Taipei Botanical Garden for a truly immersive experience of art and nature.
