"Bao-Ting" (Treasure Town) originates from a historical place name. During the Japanese colonial era, this area served as the official quarters for the town office (now called the town hall). The buildings consisted of four large buildings and six wooden units. In 2000, the then-county magistrate initiated the "Japanese-Ruled Quarters Preservation and Renovation Project," transforming the area into an arts and cultural district. Various arts and cultural events, as well as exhibitions of indigenous handicrafts and historical artifacts, are held here regularly. It has become a center for displaying municipal materials and a venue for exchange and networking among local artists and art and cultural groups. Bao-Ting, steeped in nostalgia and artistic atmosphere, is worth a stroll to experience the renewed vitality of the old buildings.
