Taiwan2023

A personal 4-day 3-night Taiwan review 2023
From my own feelings alone hahahaha
1. Taiwan has many seasons, the weather is so unpredictable, sometimes it's hot, sometimes it's cold, and sometimes it rains out of nowhere.
2. The famous food may not suit spicy food lovers like us. Restaurants there open late, and in the morning, there are only a few places open with breakfast blah blah, mostly focusing on flour-based dishes.
3. Language, it's mainly Chinese. Especially the elderly, very few speak English. Some shops only have Chinese, so I just point at the pictures, this one.
4. Bubble tea is indeed everywhere, I admit. As for the taste, I don't think it's much different from what we have in Thailand, but I must admit it's cheaper there, almost half the price, can replace water.
5. Jiufen might not be for everyone, like me hahaha. It's so crowded, like eight million people, and the traffic is terrible. It feels like going up to Doi Suthep in our country. The photo spots are just tiny tea shops, and you have to squeeze through the crowd, even elbowing with aunties hahaha.
6. Ximending is really enjoyable, walking around feels like being in Siam, gossiping about passersby, never boring. Eating spicy hotpot with Taiwanese beer, the beer is strong, whoa.
7. You can dress fashionably, the elderly might not get the feel, they stare a lot. One day I wore a red shirt with a deep cut to the navel, and men over 60 came to ask for photos, saying I'm really beautiful. I was confused, 'You come from the Philippines?' I look like a Latin girl, we are just 'Tai' (Thai).
8. And NB shoes are indeed cheap, P.S. some models. ABC Mart stores are on every corner in Ximending. If you're looking for rare models, some pairs in some shops might be more expensive than in Thailand. Just try walking around and looking.
9. The city is nice to walk around, it looks clean and tidy, very cute. MRT is not expensive, and the MRT lines are connected, but you have to hurry a bit. People here, when it's time to walk, they run, cutting in front of me and running like they're playing football. Someone ran and tripped, and I caught them with my whole body, while I stood firm, too rushed for my liking, I step aside.
10. There are two types of toilets to choose from. It's better if you find a Western-style toilet. If you find a squat toilet, it's terrible, and there was a time I really needed to pee, all three toilets were squat type. I couldn't hold it anymore, I went in and shouted to ask whether to face in or out, so I decided to face in because I was afraid of splashing hahaha.
11. The fish market is not a fresh market selling fish, but a supermarket that sells raw seafood blah blah, and in my head, it's definitely a fresh market like we have at home.
12. 7-Eleven has very few items, can't compete with Thailand on this one, sometimes they don't have what you need hahaha.
13. Stinky tofu smells, it really smells bad. I don't know if it's delicious but it smells for real.
14. Hot Star fried chicken has a long queue, the pieces are big, it's delicious and worth the wait.
15. You might want to try the noodles yourself, but I think fish maw soup in Thailand is more delicious.
16. You bump into Thais everywhere, there are so many Thais, more than hearing Thai language, it's like we're all skipping work together, so much fun.
17. If you want to buy souvenirs, buy them from outside, it's expensive at the airport.
18. The exchange rate is a bit higher than in Thailand, so I spent money like in Thailand, just multiply by about 1.113.
Can't think of anything else. If you ask if I would come again, I probably would hahaha, still want to come again.
See you next trip kaaaaa 💖
