With the popularity of the movie "Monkey King," I became interested in the ancient architecture of Shanxi. Shanxi is a great place to visit during the Lunar New Year, especially after the festival was added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
The best thing about a road trip is the freedom to travel at your own pace and enjoy the scenery along the way.
Shanxi is known for its beautiful scenery, and our first stop was Jinci Temple, also known as Tang Garden. The garden is filled with ancient trees, some of which are over a thousand years old. The solemn atmosphere is steeped in culture, with the four iron men, the offering hall, the fallen ancient trees, and the spring. Even the dragons under the eaves of the hall are vivid and lifelike, with some making peace signs and others giving thumbs up.
The Bell and Drum Towers have a unique design, and the peony garden is quite large. I will definitely come back to see the flowers in bloom!
