The basic exhibition of Jin Ci Museum is now open to the public

On October 23, the "Eternal Lineage" basic exhibition of Jin Ci Museum officially opened to the public. The exhibition, launched in 2023, is based on the theme of "Protection and Nourishment," with the curatorial concept of "Viewing Shanxi from China’s perspective, discussing Jin Ci beyond Jin Ci itself, and telling stories beyond artifacts." It breaks through regional and dimensional limitations, focusing on five major themes: "Sculpture, Casting, Writing, Trees, and Mother." The exhibition systematically traces the cultural lineage from Jin Ci to Sanjin, from sacrificial rites to civilization, vividly presenting Chinese sacrificial culture and Jin Ci’s ancestral worship traditions within the broader context of civilization evolution. Jin Ci was originally a shrine dedicated to Tang Shuyu, the founding lord of the Jin state in the early Western Zhou Dynasty. After thousands of years of construction, it has become a classical garden architectural complex that integrates natural landscapes, historical context, cultural relics, and legendary stories. It is one of the first nationally protected key cultural relics, a national first-class museum, and a 5A-level scenic spot. This exhibition covers many core buildings of Jin Ci and newly added exhibition areas. Visitors can stroll through and experience the cultural spirit of Jin Ci spanning over three thousand years, appreciating its unique charm in the inheritance of Sanjin cultural lineage and the evolution of Chinese civilization. Come to Jin Ci Museum and embark on a cultural journey through time and space!
