This royal garden, which dates back to the Western Zhou Dynasty, has undergone renovations during various dynasties, including the reign of Emperor Taizong of Tang and subsequent periods. To truly appreciate Jinci, it's recommended to do some research beforehand, as relying solely on guided explanations can be confusing due to the overlapping historical layers.

Today, Jinci is encompassed within Jinci Park, requiring a fairly long walk to explore. During long holidays, the park is crowded with visitors, so entering in the morning is advised for a cooler and more pleasant experience.
