Finally checked in at the super popular Qinhu National Wetland Park in Taizhou! This ecological paradise, rated "China's Most Beautiful Wetland" by National Geographic, is perfect for a weekend escape~ Stepping into this lush green wetland, you instantly feel like a city escapee 🌿
🚩Must-visit attractions:
1️⃣ Wetland Science Museum: I suggest starting here to quickly learn about the wetland ecosystem. There are super cute animal specimen interactive displays inside!
2️⃣ Waterside Forest Trail: Stroll along the forest boardwalk surrounded by dense dawn redwoods, and you can spot various water birds~ The best photo spot is at the Dawn Redwood Viewing Platform 📸
3️⃣ Milu Deer Park: This season is perfect for seeing herds of milu deer wandering the wetland. The park thoughtfully has several deer viewing platforms.
4️⃣ Fishermen’s Folk Culture Park: Recreates authentic fishermen’s life scenes, with fishing net casting performances at 10 AM and 2 PM daily.
🍽️Food must-tries:
✅ Qintong Fish Balls: The "Fisherman’s Family Restaurant" at the park entrance serves the most authentic Qintong fish balls, springy and delicious!
✅ Crab Roe Soup Dumplings: Recommended at "Shunji Teahouse" in Qintong Ancient Town, steamed fresh to order with bursting savory broth.
✅ Fresh River Seafood Hotpot: A Qinhu specialty, various river delicacies stewed together. The "Waterside Family" restaurant makes the best.
🚗Transportation tips:
1️⃣ Drive and navigate to "Qinhu National Wetland Park Visitor Center," the parking lot is huge and very convenient.
2️⃣ Public transport: From Taizhou South Bus Station, take the "Taizhou-Qintong" direct line, about 1 hour to reach.
⚠️Useful tips:
• Remember to wear comfortable sneakers; the wetland park is really large and requires a lot of walking.
• Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent; there are quite a few mosquitoes near the water.
• Entry stops at 3:30 PM, so it’s best to come early to enjoy more.
• There are sightseeing shuttle cars inside the park (30 RMB/person), buying a one-way ticket is recommended.
After this visit, I found Qinhu way more fun than I expected! It’s especially great for bringing family to connect with nature. Don’t forget to take a boat tour on the lake—the scenery is absolutely beautiful~
