The individual entrance ticket to Shikoku Village in Takamatsu costs 1,600 yen, but we bought a combined bus and entrance ticket for 2,000 yen, which was quite good value. We took the bus from Kataharamachi near our hotel to Kawaramachi Station, then changed to the Shido Line to Yashima, and finally took the mountain bus to Shikoku Village. The village has a long history, isn't crowded, and is very peaceful. You can see how people in Shikoku used to live, including soy sauce workshops and sugar workshops. At the top of the mountain, there's an art museum designed by Tadao Ando. Afterward, you can take the mountain bus to Yashimaji Temple. This can all be arranged as a day trip to and from Takamatsu.
