Takayama Kokubunji Temple: Golden Millennium Ginkgo

The main hall of Kokubunji Temple is the oldest building in Takayama, and the three-story pagoda in the temple is the only Buddhist pagoda in the Hida area.
And there is also a 1,200-year-old ginkgo tree here! When the ginkgo season comes, the tree turns into a golden yellow tree, and the ground under the tree is covered with yellow ginkgo leaves.
It's really spectacular~

In addition, there are six Jizo outside the mountain gate, as well as the Gengshen Hall and a lot of monkey babies.
Legend has it that if there is a part of the body that you wish to improve
Just touch the stone statue of "Baby Monkey" next to it and it will come true.
(Of course I touched the whole body 🤣)

The transportation here is also very convenient
It is only a five-minute walk from JR Takayama Station or Nohi Bus Stop, so it is a super convenient place to see the thousand-year-old ginkgo trees!
