🏮 A townscape that retains the atmosphere of the Edo period: Hida Takayama's old townscape 🏯🍶

Hida Takayama, located in Gifu Prefecture, is a historic town also known as "Little Kyoto." The "old townscape" in particular is lined with wooden townhouses that remain from the Edo period, creating a landscape that seems as if time has stopped. The atmosphere created by the black lattice buildings and cobblestone streets is picturesque no matter where you look 📸🏮.

Lined with long-established miso shops, sake breweries, and souvenir shops that highlight the craftsmanship of artisans, it's fun just to walk around. There is also a wide variety of gourmet food to eat on the go, such as grilled Hida beef skewers and gohei mochi, which will make you smile 🍡🍢.

Morning markets and old-style cafes are also scattered around, so if you take a leisurely stroll, you can enjoy a moment enveloped in the warmth of Hida. Every season is attractive, but walking around the town in the spring sunshine is especially special.
