・Kumano Moude Mochi and Matcha Set
・Kumano Mizumude and Matcha Set
Being greedy, I got a set that lets me eat both✨
"Kumano Moude Mochi" is made of mochi wrapped in bean paste and topped with brown rice flour, and "Kumano Mizumude" is smooth and easy to swallow, like kudzu mochi.
It was a hot day, so it went perfectly with the cold matcha🍃
⛩️Kumano Hongu Taisha
Located in Hongu-cho, Tanabe-shi, Wakayama,
this is the head shrine of the Kumano Shrines, which have about 3,000 shrines nationwide.
It is one of the "Kumano Sanzan" (Kumano Hongu Taisha, Kumano Hayatama Taisha, Kumano Nachi Taisha), and has long been revered as a "sacred place of resurrection."
The deities enshrined are Susanoo-no-Mikoto and four others.
Since the Heian period, many people have made pilgrimages to Kumano,
including successive warlords and aristocrats such as Minamoto no Yoritomo and Emperor Goshirakawa.
It was once enshrined on an island in the Kumano River, Oyunohara,
but was moved to its current location after a major flood in 1889.
Even now, Japan's largest torii gate stands in Oyunohara,
and people continue to visit the original shrine.
It remains a spiritual anchor for many people as a "place to revive their lives."
