A relaxing day trip to Shimen Reservoir

Shimen Reservoir is one of the important reservoirs in northern Taiwan, with beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains all year round. The Shimen Reservoir Park is full of green trees in parks of all sizes, with bicycle trails and lake cruises, providing tourists with diverse leisure activities.

Shimen Reservoir is also a good place to enjoy flowers and maple leaves. In winter, the maple leaves on the Maple Forest Trail turn golden yellow; the plum blossoms are also not far behind, displaying a sea of ​​snow-white flowers that is a feast for the eyes. When spring comes, peach blossoms, cherry blossoms and azaleas compete for beauty. During the rainy season, when the dam releases floodwater, the scene is spectacular and eye-catching.

The top of the Shimen Reservoir is a must-see attraction when visiting the reservoir. You can feel the "dominance" of the reservoir by walking up to the top of the dam, and then climb up to the "Songtai" next to the top of the dam to take in the beautiful scenery of the reservoir! If you have enough time, you can buy tickets at the yacht pier next to the dam top, take a reservoir cruise, listen to the guide, and appreciate the beauty of the reservoir from different angles.
