[Gifu] The volume of water is impressive. The impressive Kurobe Dam!

One of the highlights of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is Kurobe Dam. The sight of a huge amount of water being released from the large dam is truly impressive. It's a rare spot where you can walk on top of the dam and watch the water being released from directly above.

There's also an observation deck nearby. On clear days, you can climb the stairs right next to the cliff and look down on the dam from above. I enjoyed watching the dam release water and the surrounding mountains at the same time.

Water is only released for tourism purposes during certain periods, so it's a good idea to check the time of year and the dam's schedule before heading out!
