Laojun Mountain|A Heavenly Feast for the Eyes atop the Clouds

#chinatravel

From Suzhou to Laojun Mountain, this self-drive journey was absolutely worth it. We started climbing around 8 a.m., but pro tip: make sure to follow your GPS carefully and park near the cable car station—we didn’t and had to walk over 1km just to reach it. Lesson learned!

The first-tier cable car ride is impressively long (about 15 minutes) and scenic. After a short second-tier ride, you’ll still need to walk a bit to reach the elevator entrance (¥40 for 4 levels). Totally worth it to save your energy before tackling the final stairs up to the Golden Summit.

Though the stairs to the top are steep and tiring, the view was breathtaking—we were lucky enough to see the legendary sea of clouds, making the whole journey magical. It does get crowded by noon, but the cool mountain breeze keeps it refreshing.

💯Verdict: Laojun Mountain lives up to its reputation—majestic, ethereal, and unforgettable.
